Wow… thank you I’ve received an overwhelming response about my colleague Val’s guest post I shared on mental health in the entrepreneurship community last week. Obviously it struck a chord with you.
*If you missed it here’s the cliff notes: It’s the things we think but do not say. 31% of entrepreneurs have privately worried that they might go out of business. (For context, there are 30 Million small and medium sized businesses in the US, so that’s 10 Million entrepreneurs privately suffering through this fear.)
It’s proof that the struggle is real. I would know, between battling workaholism and having had that same fear as 10 million others, I’ve been there too.
So with all that in mind and to be as valuable an asset as possible to you, Val and I decided to take a deeper dive into the subject on my podcast.
What we break down for you:
- Val is saying what millions of entrepreneurs are feeling but believe it’s taboo to talk about.
- We also expose the phoney online goo-roos who promote “Hustle Porn”. (Which is defined as using the power of social media to convince others to take risks not right for them, by pushing a lifestyle that isn’t just unreasonable, but downright dangerous for many people.)
The podcast is available here. And if you prefer to see our smiling faces, the video version is right here.
The Solution:
The power of community is the #1 antidote to this fear of going out of business that so many entrepreneurs battle. And I’m not the only expert beating this drum…
Dr. Nicholas Christakis, director of The Human Nature lab at Yale University, found that social networks enhance success. What causes this “success contagion” are the mirror neurons in the human brain. We tend to mirror the performance (and results) of those we are observing.
If you want to make DRAMATIC leaps in your performance and mindset nothing works as well as joining a group of high performers who are making the same progress together.
THAT is precisely what all my top students are doing here:
