What do I want at my funeral?
Tailgating in the parking lot beforehand….
An open bar.
Matching t-shirts for everyone and maybe even a custom Instagram or SnapChat filter for the event.
The catering menu will be enjoyable food containing ingredients I’m allergic and can’t eat. Just so my friends and family can enjoy it on my behalf (gluten, ice cream, coffee and beer just to name a few).
My coffin will be sitting in the lobby in a cardboard box, unassembled. And as an act of teambuilding, family members who don’t get along will have to put it together using nothing but Ikea style pictogram instructions.
(Ideally after they’re good n drunk.)
That’ll make for a great Facebook Live stream….
If they fail to build it, as a plan B I’d like to be cremated with my unsold books used as kindling. Please auction my ashes on eBay in a commemorative Pittsburgh Pirates urn with the proceeds going to my kids favorite charity.
Oh, I almost forgot… it will be called Bru-fest and there will be participation trophies for everyone who attends. I’d like to think I’ll be remembered for putting the FUN in FUNeral.
Coach Bru have you lost your mind? Why the hell are you talking crazy like this?
Because it’s not crazy. It’s actually how the funeral industry is reinventing itself today. Kind of takes the expression “evolve or perish” to a whole other level.
With a historic spike in Baby Boomer deaths predicted, the funeral industry is reinventing itself. Funeral homes have hired event planners, remodeled their parlors to include amenities like: bars, lounges and dance floors.
Lots of things are changing not just funerals. Remember when there was no such thing as a “destination wedding” or a gender reveal party? Yep, me too and it wasn’t that long ago. Now they’re more common that not.
This begs the question how are you evolving your business, watching consumer or demographic trends and getting ahead of the curve?
I believe we are all either a great example or a cautionary tale. Let this industry be a great example reminding you that in 2019 the game is changing faster than ever. And your business constantly needs to evolve or perish.
How do you do it?
Here’s a roadmap that has helped countless entrepreneurs re-invent, grow and revolutionize their business.
Act now and I’ll throw in a copy of any of my other books for FREE. (Just note which you’d like in the order notes)
