Yesterday morning I was talking to Adam Todd who is one of the members of my Yesterday’s Underdog community. Adam’s a college coach and while we were discussing books, I commented to him that it’s a shame nobody reads anymore today. He quickly corrected me saying his players read a lot…
…they read their text messages. Every. Single. Day.
His simple but very profound statement got me thinking…
Many read texts.
Few read books.
Many read fake news on Facebook.
Few read an actual newspaper.
Many read their Twitter feed.
Few read anything published pre-Gutenberg.
Many read internet memes.
Few read the Bible.
Many settle for whatever their “smart” phone serves up to them instead of being selective about intelligent options.
No wonder many people die with unrealized potential.
It’s not whether you read. It’s WHAT you read that shapes your destiny.
What are you reading today that will make you better tomorrow?
Here’s an easy read that’s been embraced by over two dozen professional, college and world cup teams.
A common reaction I hear is “I wish this book were around when I started my career.”
It makes for a great graduation present or something you could read on the beach in an afternoon.
